Setting Out
Hillcrest Surveys specialises within the Engineering Survey environment, providing control networks, setting out, and as built surveys for all sizes of project. Hillcrest have successfully completed the Cabot Shopping Centre, Bristol glazed roof structure, through to being the Project Surveyors for the New Wembley Stadium complex.
We are experienced in surveying complex structural components at the production stage through to assembly and erection of the finished article.
Hillcrest Surveys Limited have many years experience working with glazed curtain walling companies on high rise buildings that include No.1 London Wall, Lakeshore Office Complex, Empress House Earl’s Court and many more.
All of our work is covered by £1,000,000 professional indemnity insurance….due to our meticulous work procedures we have never had to make use of it!
Control Surveyors
Accurate primary control is a pre-requisite for developments both large and small, Hillcrest has been responsible for provision and maintenance of precise control networks for many years utilising the very best precise survey equipment made by Leica Geosystems, and survey methods gained through over 30 years of experience.
The control network forms the integral backbone for the accuracy in setting out for all projects. The control network can be provided through all the stages of the project to insure accurate setting out and as built survey checks, establishment of the building grid and datums for all to use. We are able to establish the primary control network to either the criteria as dictated by the architects local grid or for larger projects the Ordnance Survey National Grid.
Hillcrest have provided the expertise on major projects throughout the United Kingdom including, New Wembley National Stadium, Pfizers Headquarters Reigate, Duke of York’s’ H.Q. Chelsea, Cabot Shopping Centre Bristol and many more.
Monitoring
Hillcrest are able to provide a range of monitoring services specialising in deformation surveys utilising the very best techniques and equipment such as precise levelling, geospatial, and inclinometer measurement.
Hillcrest Surveys Limited are proficient in the use of 3d geospatial measurement utilising high precision total stations and reflective targets and high precision prisms. This is a cost effective method to determine any deformation to a structure related to the construction process or outside influences. This method is based upon observation to strategic points from known fixed points outside of the zone of influence. This technique may be performed according to the frequency of measurement either manually or automatically.
Precise levelling is a very accurate fast cost effective method for determination of the smallest of vertical movement. Well placed monitoring studs can be measured for heave or settlement on many structures with the use of either optical measurement or scanning of invar bar codes with Leica instrumentation.
Hillcrest Surveys Limited was responsible for the monitoring of the New Wembley Stadium Arch throughout its construction and erection into its final position.
Roads , Bridges and Structural deformation programs have been set up by Hillcrest Surveys Limited that include The Duke of York’s H.Q. Kings Road Chelsea, Royal London Hospital and historical residences within the Borough of Westminster and Chelsea.
